Geometry + Grids

Very similar to Antoine and Manuels poster called GOD, I tried this with simple geometry, shapes and form, I concentrated this time more on the abstract personality of the shapes and i think it reveals just as much detail as the more complex 3 dimentional structures in Cinema 4d.

Lily Photoshopped

Took close ups of the paper lily and tried to focus on them both (conker) needing sun, strangely the inside of the lily resemble the spikes on the conker??

Antoine & Manuel

I've been looking at French designers Antoine and Manuel. They have worked on a wide range of projects from designing campaigns to constructing crazy 3-d sculptures. There’s lots of amazing typographic treatments and some really cool looking illustrations, I especially like the way they use hand rendered artwork, vectors, photography and mix it all up to create interesting designs.

C+L (b)

This was inspiration from a 'Michael Paul Young Design' font called 'Agostina' and the letter A, admittedly theirs looks awesome, it starts off as a random shape and after a lot of morphing shape shifting turns into an A. I thought I could apply the same method and make the spikes and conker revealed!!

Still playing around with ghosting/transparency to make the animation look eerie:

B+W Animation

May have gone off on a tangent here, but thought I'd experiment making the whole thing B+W and the animation judder, blink and add some noise.

Cut/crease Origami

Had a shot at the second half of the animation using the masking tool, almost as if the lily is being folded and creased, don't think I'll use the orange background, much prefer the natural photo colour of the original animation below.

Shattered Origami

Photoshop layers exported from After Effects, almost like an origami puzzle.

Falling Conker

Made use of the blustery and horrid day we had, got a bit of video footage, the noise of the wind sounds cool in the background, I somehow want to morph the origami lily more half way through this animation as if it were changing in mid air with the conker falling effect in the background.
